Freelance

by Dave on December 14, 2009

Hey, I’m looking around Google for sites on freelancing.  I just bought three new domain names.  Check ‘em out:

cheapcallstopakistan.net

cheappayasyougophones.net

prepaidwirelessinternet.net

So I need some articles written on those subjects.  I could do it myself, but that wouldn’t be the best use of my time.  Besides, there are writers out there that do this stuff all the time for a few dollars an article.

Since I haven’t had articles written in a while, I wanted to check out Google to see what came back when I entered the word freelance.  And one of my favorite sites is still doing well – Get A Freelancer.   Here’s just one site (there are dozens) where you can add your “project” for a small fee and get literally dozens of bids.

Here’s my description:

I need 5 articles of 500 words each written for 3 websites. So, I need a total of 15 articles.

The articles are going to be on the following subjects; I’ll give more specific keywords to the winner.

cheap calls to Pakistan
cheap pay as you go phones
prepaid wireless internet

Payment will be made after articles are approved and accepted. My budget is limited on this project.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

So I’ll keep you updated on what happens and before you know it, I’ll have those sites up and making some money.

Dave,
I understand your concerns about the best use of your time not being about writing articles.

One solution I have found is, in addition to outsourcing the writing, is to pull articles from the article directories and use the WordPress plugin WP-Unique to make them unique to Google.

The article remains intact, including the author’s links, but Google sees a totally unique article. It’s a pretty spiffy plugin.

As long as the author’s attribution and links remain intact (as per TOS of most article directories), there is nothing unethical about this procedure.

It’s about as ethical as using WP-Robot to make Google think your blogs are regularly updated instead of being automated…

I suppose it’s whatever your conscious can bear. Are you doing well with WP-Unique? I did try a plugin called Uniquifier, but after about a week, I dumped it. Didn’t feel right about it. Now that I am using WP-Robot, I’ll take another look. Nothing beats good old quality writing, but some folks are making a killing using these simple tools.
